Gratefulness
Now that summer said its last goodbye, we are invited to welcome autumn, and as hard as it is for us to accept, nature makes no mistake. Knowing how easy it is for us to quickly jump to negativity, we often find ourselves stuck in wallowing. We tend to focus so much on cold days that once again we are missing a precious jewel. As much as we don't let ourselves the time to transition between the different seasons of our lives, we would like nature to do the same. If life listened to us, we would have no seasons whatsoever. We sometimes want life to feel like an endless summer not realizing that on its own summer couldn't even be defined as such. Thank God we can't fast-forward nature just like we fast-forward our days and as we enter into fall, we are given an opportunity to not only slow down but to find beauty despite the dark skies because no matter how dark the season is, it will pass. So, my prayer for you this month is that with each sunrise you find the strength to make space for gratefulness in your life. Not forgetting that even if summer didn't last forever, its memory can still live inside of you and that on its own is a gift to be cherished in the midst of chaotic storms. So what about we start offering ourselves the time to truly listen to what each season of our life has to tell us ? Tell me, how would your life look like if you started counting your blessings instead of keeping score of each time you felt cursed ? Truth is, every single time you see yourself heading towards ungratefulness, you can make a conscious choice by giving thanks and actively seeking the brighter side. I swear that if you look closely, even when darkness feels everywhere around, stars are waiting to be found.
